Brenna
Sustainabella
A big issue that is not recognized enough is fast fashion. This is the use of sweatshops and quick manufacturing to create clothing goods around the world, which includes very poor treatment and unfair pay to the employees. Working conditions are unsafe, uncomfortable, and harsh, but many companies continue to do this.
Brenna was very aware of this problem, and wanted make a difference in multiple ways. Her initiative was to raise awareness about the waste left behind from fast fashion industry as well as the negative effects it has on local people, workers, and the surrounding environment. She wanted to educate others on the inhumane conditions around the world caused by unfair trades. Her goals were to help fuel the fight against child labour and for better working conditions around the world. In means of doing this, she planned to create her own sustainable company that sells fashion and home décor items built on upcycling and thrifting. Part of her proceeds would be sent to non profit charitable organizations helping with the unfair working conditions and child labour.
